The guy that you don’t rec­og­nize is Indone­sian hero Prince Dipone­goro (1785 — 1855) who opposed Dutch Colo­nial rule and “believed that he had been cho­sen by divine pow­ers to lead a rebel­lion against the Chris­t­ian colonials.”

As dusk set in, we also saw a num­ber of men rid­ing on the backs of mopeds wield­ing rifles.  Most likely unrelated.
